Inventory Management and Invoice Generation is a crucial part of any company involved in the logistics space. Vinay RoadLines Pvt. Ltd. is a transport company based in Kolkatta, West Bengal which transports heavy equipments like iron reels and coils. The company gets the order from middlemen companies which get the tender for transporting the said metals from one place to another.
The major problem faced by this company is that there is no digital software or platform to get in touch with manufacturers directly. Still, the orders are received through middlemen, and inventory management and invoice generation are done in pen and paper.
Another issue faced by this industry is that the payment process is extremely sluggish. This is the result of manual billing. The order is first supplied to the middlemen, who then pass it on to the Vinay Roadlines. Once the order has been delivered, a challan is signed and returned to the middlemen, who then pass it back to the manufacturing firms. The entire process is tiresome and time consuming.
Key objective of the project
The key objective of the project is to use Microsoft Excel (VBA) to build a semi-automated model that will help the company with efficient management of its inventory and the records of the orders while generating and printing individual invoices for all processes that are running in parallel.

The final model was tested acoross various parameters and scenarios and the certain constraints were set for optimal performance. These constraints included the mode of entry, naming conventions etc.
